Copyedit and proofread jacket and cover materials from original copy through final proof.
Style electronic manuscripts in MS Word in preparation for copyediting.
Perform ebook quality review.
Perform departmental administrative tasks such as CIP data applications, freelancer contract maintenance, and invoicing.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Relevant work experience, preferably in trade publishing.
Strong copyediting and proofreading skills, with a keen attention to detail.
Knowledge of The Chicago Manual of Style .
Strong MS Word skills and knowledge of electronic copyediting and PDF markup. Knowledge of electronic styling is a plus.
Spanish language and writing experience is a plus.
Organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work well under pressure and within tight deadlines by prioritizing tasks and managing time effectively.

The compensation for this position is a range from $55,000-$58,000. There may be times that you will be required (or requested) to work overtime due to the nature of your role or exceptional workload issues or special projects. This usually occurs in November and December only.
