Position summary

team by assisting Contracts staff with daily tasks and projects. We are looking for a motivated individual who is eager to learn about the business side of the publishing industry.

Who you are:

  • Interested in exploring a career in the business side of publishing

  • Self-starter with strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills

  • Possess a great attitude and a desire to learn as well as excellent organizational skills

  • Ability to work collaboratively with a team and contribute insights

  • Resourceful with the ability to balance multiple responsibilities and work independently to meet deadlines

  • Must be results driven, and take appropriate steps to achieve goals while taking ownership of situations as needed

  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint

What you will learn:

  • Provide general assistance for the Contracts Department (including sending DocuSign envelopes, uploading digital documents into our Publishing Database System, scheduling meetings, etc.)

  • Registering primary format titles for copyright and mailing deposit copies (as needed)

  • Draft Subsidiary Rights agreements and amendments as they may arise

  • Assisting in the full execution process in our Title Management system, as well as maintaining Contracts systems data

  • Field general Contracts inquiries
