Position summary

licity and Marketing Intern will work with the broader Publicity and Marketing Department to learn skills and fundamentals of creating and implementing book campaigns. The Publicity and Marketing Intern will work with the team on social media content, research for media coverage, pitch material creation, departmental system maintenance, and other departmental projects as needed.

Who you are:

  • Interested in exploring a career in nature and non-fiction publishing

  • Self-starter with strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills

  • Enthusiastic and excited about discussing recent books you've read

  • Possess a great attitude and a desire to learn as well as excellent organizational skills

  • Ability to work collaboratively with a team and contribute insights

  • Resourceful with the ability to balance multiple responsibilities and work independently

  • Must be results driven, and take appropriate steps to achieve goals while taking ownership of situations as needed

  • Attention to detail and ability to prioritize workload

  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, familiarity with Asana a plus

What you will learn:

  • Work with Team Social Media to create seasonal and book-specific social media campaigns.

  • Help Schedule posts and content for social media channels; flag issues for follow up

  • Event and Influencer research

  • Materials creation including press releases, media lists, influencer spreadsheet, and publicity plans

  • Administrative support as needed
