    JOB OVERVIEW:

    This position is responsible for operating one or more Computer Numeric Control (CNC) machines in the production of high-precision small parts and cutting instruments . Included in this role is the setting up the machines, the creation of part profiles and shapes , the placement of specific features, and the cut ting or sharpening of instrument teeth meeting final specification s . This position may include working morning s , afternoon s, nights and weekends according to business needs .

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Reads print s and job order s for determining product specifications such as dimensions, tolerances, and number of parts to be machined , and tooling instructions such as grinding speeds, feed rates, holding fixtures, and grinding wheels to be used

    • Operates precision CNC machines to create products meeting required dimensions

    • Inspects and measures parts created to ensure specifications are achieved

    • Maintains job routing information and completes sign-offs as required

    • Performs other related production tasks during available time

    • Performs routine maintenance, lubrication and replacement o f worn parts on machines in coordination with maintenance personnel

    • Informs the subsequent shift operator of the production status of the current shift

    • Keeps work area clean an d free of oil and other residue

    • Other tasks as assigned by the Manager

    WORK EXPERIENCE:

    • One year of rela ted experience and/or training, or equivalent combinat ion of education and experience preferred

    EDUCATION:

    • High school diploma or equivalent required

    • C ertificate fr om college or technical school specific to CNC Machine Operation a plus

    • Experience with Amada Laser a plus

    KNOWLEDGE, SKI LLS & COMPETENCIES:

    • Ability to read, understand and perform standard procedures and work instructions

    • Intermediate mecha nical skills required

    • Intermediate math and logic skills required

    • Intermediate computer s kills and software use experience required

    TRAVEL / PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    • Travel - typically not required

    • Position typically works in a manufacturing environment on site where environmental conditions are stable. May be exposed to higher levels of noise typical in a manufacturing environment.

    • While performing the duties of this job, the employee routinely is required to sit or stand for extended periods of time; use hands to finger, and operate manual and non-manual machinery; stoop, kneel, crouch, twist, reach, stretch and lift up to 20 pounds

    • Position requires that the employee use eye protection at all times while working
