    THE POSITION

    • You will be responsible for leading of the payroll activities of the payroll team, ensuring timely accurate completion of multiple payrolls (approximately 900 employees)

    • You are comfortable and have demonstrated experience with essential payroll related legislative compliance across multiple provinces with employment standards, CRA, collective agreements and other regulatory bodies

    • You have previously been responsible for all government reporting requirements for payroll taxes, withholding and employer contributions and taxable benefits ensuring that payments and deductions are in compliance with applicable federal, provincial, local laws and regulations

    • You are prepared for the volume of work to ensure that submitted payrolls meet all SOX control and high threshold auditing standards in a publicly traded company

    • You are able and willing to answer questions from stakeholders at various levels within the organization in a timely, customer centric fashion, dealing with all escalated payroll concerns

    • You have previous experience with WorkForce Now, and have worked through the implementation of software systems in your work processes previously

    • You have managed a department through change management in the past

    • You have advanced excel skills, proficient in manipulating large amounts of data for reconciliation, auditing and report preparation

    • You enjoy working in a busy, performance based, corporate, business environment, able to multi-task to meet the needs of the organization

    THE QUALIFICATIONS

    You have a minimum of five (5) to seven (7) years of experience working with multi-jurisdictional payrolls, complemented with working knowledge of various provincial employment standards. You have demonstrated progressive career experience in the payroll industry to the leadership level in medium to large organizations. You are current holder of the Payroll Leadership Practitioner (PLP) designation from the National Payroll Institute. You have a University Degree in Finance or Business, or a related field. You have an advanced skill set in Excel, and are proficient in Microsoft Office, with a demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and maintain confidentiality. You have experience with large volume administration, having high attention to detail and strong organizational skills. Experience with WorkForce Now is required for this position.

    *Bilingualism would be an asset in this position.

    *This position is based in our Canadian, Corporate Head Office, St. Catharines/Niagara-on-the-Lake. This role is available for a HYBRID working arrangement, available to be performed both in office (2-3 days a week) and home.
