Works is accomplished with limited direction and typically defined by the individual during task development. Work may be reviewed for accuracy and overall content upon completion. Contributes to the organization and fulfillment of project objectives. Failure to accomplish tasks will require allocation of additional resources to correct and/or achieve the project goals or may lead to failure of project.
Ability to manage projects with up to 10 team members, but typically leads teams of 6 to 10.
Plans, implements, and executes engineering project leadership through all project phases.
Evaluates and approves design changes, specification, and drawing releases. Leads reviews of product design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer contract requirements, and related specifications with limited guidance for engineering management.
Produces design models, drawing details, assembly drawings, and associated engineering documentation with 3-D parametric modeling software, MS Word, EXCEL and MS Power Point.
Provides status and progress reports to customer, project team, and management.
Ensure accurate and controlled documents are generated.
Requires regular, reliable attendance.
Participates in special projects and performs other duties as required.

Perform the following duties in a professional way, supporting Ortho Organizers' Quality Policy. Must understand, follow and comply with regulatory requirements as applicable to various processes. An understanding of FDA Quality System Regulations (21 CFR 820) and ISO Standards (ISO 13485) is required.
Specialized Knowledge and Skills:
Ability to work in team environment as contributor and leader
Degree in Mechanical Engineering from accredited college with 6+ years of work experience or 10+ years related work experience in small parts, injection molding, and/or automated equipment design and at least 8+ years in dental/orthodontics related industry.
7+ years experience designing with Pro-E (Wildfire 2.0 or higher) or equivalent.
7+ years of project management experience with multi-discipline teams.
5+ years of 2-D drafting experience.
7+ years of injection mold component and mold design.
Possess a strong knowledge of mechanical manufacturing techniques including machining, sheet metal, and injection molding.
Ability to create and maintain scheduled plans while maintaining quality of engineering deliverables with guidance for engineering management.
Excellent decision making/problem solving skills.
Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and MS Power Point.
Experience with orthodontics or medical products a plus.
Experience with phased new product development processes from concept through full production release is a plus.
Other: LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers or customers.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Ability to work from both verbal and written instruction. Be hands-on computer literate.

This position will be working in an office environment, utilizing typical office equipment.
The posted range for this position is $95,990 to $149,985 which is the expected starting base salary range for an employee who is new to the role to fully proficient in the role. Many factors go into determining employee pay within the posted range including education, prior experience, training, current skills, certifications, location/labor market, internal equity, etc.
This position is eligible for a bonus not reflected in the posted range.
