You will implement policies and standards. Ensures area of responsibility is audited according to program for audit. Assists line managers and supervisors in understanding obligations, liability and how to fulfil their roles, according to local HSE law and HITACHI ENERGY Group policy, instructions and standards. You will facilitate HSE risks assessment by line management involving project management, site management team, contractors' employees and workmen, i.e. those directly concerned by the hazards, and ensures all processes are implemented. Conduct and lead the basic concepts such as risk assessment and environmental aspects & impact assessment.
You will drive behavioral changes through implementing Group-wide performance improvement programs and practices locally to ensure an exemplary health and safety culture as well as a strong focus on environment throughout the respective organization.
You will engage external (e.g. customers, suppliers and other stakeholders) and internal stakeholders in order to report on, raise awareness and gain commitment to HITACHI ENERGY's HSE efforts and performance and obtain objective feedback.
You will cooperate with other functions, the CoE and business partners to drive HSE performance. Coach and guide all levels of management, supervisor, and employee at site levels & office to establish the safety culture, prevention activities and collaborative approach. Identify, plans and initiate training needs for HITACHI ENERGY employees and contractors' staff when required.
You ensure appropriate safety equipment and tools are available and used. Identifies, plans and initiates training needs, e.g. for employees, site managers, and agree with, and ensures delivery of training from the CoE. Drives and ensures compliance with Group management systems (e.g. ISO 14001 and ISO 45001).
You will participate in the incident prevention program, workshop session and incident investigation and analysis studies. Engage on pre-tendering safety documents as per customer requirements & involve on risk review at tendering stage. Participate in contractor HSE assessment & evaluation on selection stage, conduct safety briefing regarding requirements to potential contractors & how to ensure.
You will contribute to and/or plans and execute HSE, Sustainability and Corporate Responsibility (CR) related projects. Developments and reports on project objectives and manage project resources such as manpower, financials, and other relevant factors. Conduct and lead the basic concepts such as risk assessment and environmental aspects & impact assessment. Participate in the internal and external audit of safety management system.
You will be responsible for ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your background
You hold a bachelor's degree or diploma in electrical/ mechanical/ environmental engineering/Health & Safety.
Atleast 8-10 years working in HSE field (Preferable to work on Sub-station business with electrical engineering background).
Full-time Safety course, NEBOSH will be preferred.
Knowledge and experience with ISO14001 and ISO45001.
Knowledge and experience of the "Industrial Safety and Health Act" will be beneficial.
Knowledge of workplace risk assessment methodologies and techniques.
High business level English and Japanese business level is a must.
