junction with third-party administrators and tax preparers to ensure timely tax reporting and communication, as well as drive continuous improvement throughout the processes.
Responsibilities
- Manage the U.S. tax compliance function for access funds including private equity, hedge funds, private credit, RICs and blocker entities.
- Coordinate multiple third-party tax preparers and administrators in the review of the fund investment tax returns and preparation of K-1s.
- Prepare supporting schedules to assist external accounting firms with the preparation of tax estimates, Schedule K-1s, investor state composite elections and tax returns.
- Work with accounting firms, law firms and senior tax leadership with resolving complex tax issues and operational challenges.
- Ensure effective communication and collaboration between different departments to meet deliverable deadlines. Facilitate the sharing of information and resources to optimize efficiency and productivity.
- Respond to requests from internal and external stakeholders, including Investor Relations, Operations, and Finance.
- Review tax provision calculations and relevant financial statement disclosures.
- Coordinate with taxing authorities to resolve federal, state, and local tax audits and notices.
- Stay up to date and present new tax regulations and participate in industry regulatory and tax forums. Contribute to the company's knowledge base and provide valuable insights on tax-related matters.
- Document and maintain procedures, tax positions, workflows, and metrics.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and lead process improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
- 7+ years of relevant experience, preferably with an asset manager and/or Big 4 accounting firm
- CPA or master's degree in taxation is a plus
- Comfortable learning new systems and technology
- Proven ability to multi-task and work both independently and as a team player in a fast-paced, demanding environment
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Willing to learn new topics and work in an evolving business environment
- Organized, self-motivated, and detail-oriented with ability to see the big picture

The base salary range for this role is $150,000 to $200,000. iCapital offers a compensation package which includes salary, equity for all full-time employees, and an annual performance bonus.
