- Must be proficient in JCL, COBOL, VSAM, MQ, and CICS.
- Must have a basic understanding of Java programming to support integration and migration activities.
- Must have experience with JZOS and IBM JavaClassGenerator to facilitate mainframe and Java interoperability.
- Must have proficiency in REXX and SAS scripting on mainframe systems for data manipulation and process automation.
- Knowledge of best practices in mainframe migration planning, including risk assessment and resource management.
Soft Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, especially for collaborating on mainframe integration with Java developers and migration planning.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment with a focus on quality and attention to detail.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with DevOps practices on mainframes, including tools like Jenkins and Git.
- Familiarity with MQ use with Apache Kafka.
- Prior experience with performance tuning on mainframe systems and Java applications.
Educational Requirements:
A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a foreign equivalent is required from an accredited institution. Will also consider three years of progressive, relevant work experience instead of every year of education.
The job entails sitting and working at a computer for extended periods. Should be able to communicate by telephone, email, or face-to-face. Travel may be required as per the job requirements.
