    Position summary

    • This role will lead a diverse team of 100+ individuals through CPE technology architecture, development, and testing activities across Europe and must inspire and motivate in a way that leverages the collective talent across all markets and align individuals around the Customer Value Proposition.

    • This role must also focus on achieving wider Technology objectives around scale, cost efficiency, speed to market and quality.

    • The role is accountable for implementing entertainment CPE component through their technology delivery and operations lifecycle ensuring timely delivery of technically ready products and services that can be taken to market.

    Key Accountabilities
    For Entertainment CPEs:

    • Manage CPE Delivery, Release Management, Change Control & Non-regression testing
    • Own CPE SW Architecture & Prototyping, Tech Roadmap and define Non-functional requirements
    • Develop CPE Hardware architecture and perform acceptance testing
    • Define Solution Design, Detailed Design (Low Level Design), Test Strategy & Planning
    • Perform (Technical) Vendor Management
    • Evaluate Technical Vendor Solution
    • Set up Development Environment and Develop CPE Software
    • Develop, Integrate and Validate CPE Software
    • Document Operational/technical knowledge

    Knowledge & Experience
    Preferred education/ qualifications:

    • MSc degree level in a relevant area (network-, communications- or consumer electronics engineering, ...)
    • Fluent spoken and written English - ideally other European languages
    • Proven experience in applying both Waterfall and Agile development approach

    Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

    • 10+ years of experience in the cable, satellite or telco industry

    • 8+ years experience in entertainment CPE implementation for B2C video services

    • 10+ Experience and knowledge of CATV technologies, DTV and VOD/ReplayTV, Middleware platforms and Video Delivery technologies

    • Line management experience with budget responsibility and senior management reporting

    • Experience with working in an international and distributed team environment

    • Experience in technical delivery management of large Pan-European B2C implementation platforms.

    • Deep CPE hardware and software development/industrialization knowledge and experience

    • An understanding of Entertainment B2C services from:

    • commercial & content side

    • product development process

    • deep understanding of entertainment technology & ecosystem from back-office & service platforms, and Apps (IOS, Android, HTML5)

    • wide understanding of IP and broadcast networking as well as data center infrastructure.

    • An understanding of Entertainment related costs and economics and able to support unit economic analysis.

    • A strong overall understanding of the technologies and platforms specific to a large cable and telecommunications operator.

    • Technical knowledge and implementation experience around CPE hardware/firmware/software, Video CAS, DRM, home networking, linear TV (DVB standards), VoD, cDVR.

    • Good overall knowledge/familiarity with telecommunications technologies, including: Ethernet, broadcast, as well as most current IP communication protocols.

    • Good knowledge/familiarity with Audio and Video coding/decoding technologies
