How you will make an impact:

At Iterable we strive to deliver a quality product to our customers at a reasonable price. To be competitive on price we are continuously improving our unit cost and optimizing where we can. Managing costs has and always will be an organization-wide responsibility but this role represents the first dedicated role in this space. You will be the founding member of a startup within a startup. with plans to build out a larger team in the future. You will help Iterable understand, report on, and optimize the costs of our technology offering. Note: Please kindly submit your resume in English. Thank you!

In this role, you'll get to:

  • Build out cost usage tooling on a per-engineering team and per-customer basis
  • Advise on best practices for delivering infrastructure at appropriate costs
  • Work with highly talented engineers across multiple sites to optimize COGS
  • Help develop and standardize a FinOps program and platform at Iterable
  • Act as a product owner for internal cost management tooling
  • Work collaboratively with Finance and Engineering teams to develop value metrics and detailed cloud margin reporting and help set COGS target
  • Manage central planning and purchasing of reservations and licensing to support corporate savings programs
  • Develop and deliver timely FinOps reporting to all levels of the organization (from individual product teams to C-Suite)
  • Work with the Finance team to provide forecasted cloud usage and reporting against cloud vendor commitments

We are looking for people who have:

  • 5+ years of relevant work experience in cloud technologies
  • 1 - 3 years of FinOps experience creating financial models to manage cloud spend
  • Technical understanding of AWS service offerings
  • Demonstrated success in cloud cost optimization / FinOps efforts
  • Demonstrated success in the development and delivery of Corporate programs
  • Strong quantitative data analysis skills; ability to use hard data and metrics to support assumptions, recommendations, and drive actions
  • Experience querying databases and other data sources
  • Strong written and verbal communication. You can distill key points out of complex technical descriptions to share with non-technical stakeholders, adapting your language and style of communication depending on the audience.
  • Fluency in English (verbal and written); Bonus: fluency in Portuguese.
  • Legally authorized to work in the EU

Bonus points

  • Experience with FinOps platforms such as Cast.ai, cloudzero, finout, etc.
  • Experience as an Infrastructure Engineer or SRE
  • Proficiency in at least one high-level programming language
  • Mathematics or Finance background
  • Worked in a company with a strong US presence
