Position Summary:

• Configuration Technician is responsible for the implementation, support, training, and troubleshooting for any one of the business applications (MES, Agile, SAP, etc) in their facility. Knowledgeable of the functionality of all system tools and understand the business in such a way that they can support other users in typical and also advanced questions that require research to solve. Be a creative and proactive contributor to the Configuration Management department, focused on continuous improvement and corporate consistency within the department. The This position is typically assigned to the person who has the most experience with the application, and would already be considered the "power user" of the application.

Key Responsibilities and End Results:

• Manufacturing Execution System Configuration (MES, AMW, Aegis, Valor)

• Understand and be able to configure in all software types.

• Learn to pull SQL queries and read system code to help Applications Admin root cause system issues.

• Serve as the functional expert for all manufacturing related systems and tools.

• Support other users in typical and advanced questions that require research to solve.

• Coordinate and facilitate training for the plant in terms of new hires, new functionality, and upgrades.

• Track and communicate all changes/enhancements to existing planning systems, including upgrades to current systems.

• Provide support to the users and the department SME's.

• Serve as the first point-of-contact for application issues when there are no department SME's.

• Investigate incidents before escalation to Regional IT.

• Work with other SME's to implement Jabil best practices in the site.

• Guide users in configuration.

• Work with site and regional IT on testing and implementation of upgrades and new functionality.

• Maintain and develop documentation for responsible area.

• Participate in the exchange of ideas and information within the department.

• Organize verbal and written ideas clearly and use an appropriate business style.

• Monitor departmental activities and provide technical and logistical guidance/support for the configuration management staff as applicable.

• Support and focus corrective action efforts and utilizing the SPC data and corrective action tracking package and create and implement any meetings, procedures, or team-building concepts as necessary as part of the corrective/preventative effort.

• Serve as liaison between department and GMS team.

Job Specifications :

• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

• Ability to operate a personal computer including using a Windows based operating system and related software.

• Advanced PC skills, including training and knowledge of Jabil's vision.

• Bachelor's degree preferred

• and seven years related experience and/or training

• or equivalent combination of education and experience

• A certification by related professional organizations (such as APICS, NAPM, or ASQ) is preferred.
