Warehousing, you will be responsible for leading the cycle counting activities within our warehouse facilities. Working closely with the inventory control & warehouse teams, you will oversee the execution of cycle counts, analyze discrepancies, and implement corrective actions to improve accuracy. Your role will also involve providing leadership and guidance to cycle count analysts and material handlers, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
What can you expect to do?
Cycle Count Management: Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of cycle count activities to ensure accurate and timely counting of inventory items. Develop and maintain cycle count schedules, prioritize counts based on inventory value and turnover, and ensure compliance with cycle count procedures.
Inventory Analysis: Analyze cycle count results and inventory discrepancies to identify root causes and trends. Investigate variances, determine potential causes of inventory discrepancies, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement corrective actions and process improvements.
System Maintenance: Assist in maintaining inventory accuracy in the warehouse management system (WMS) and other related systems. Perform system transactions, reconcile inventory records, and troubleshoot system issues as needed.
Reporting and Metrics: Generate cycle count reports, metrics, and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to monitor inventory accuracy and performance. Provide regular updates to management on cycle count results, trends, and areas for improvement.
Training and Development: Provide training, guidance, and support to cycle count associates to ensure adherence to standard operating procedures and best practices. Foster a culture of continuous learning and development within the team.
Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline cycle count processes, increase efficiency, and reduce errors. Implement process improvements and automation initiatives to enhance inventory accuracy and optimize cycle count procedures.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments, including warehouse operations, materials management, and finance, to address inventory-related issues and ensure alignment with business objectives. Serve as a subject matter expert on inventory management and cycle count processes.
People Leadership: Provide leadership and direction to cycle count analysts and material handlers, fostering a positive work environment and promoting teamwork and collaboration. Set clear expectations, provide regular feedback, and support the professional development of team members.
What is the experience needed to be successful in this role?
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
5+ years of experience in inventory management and analysis, cycle counting, or related field required.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to analyze data and identify trends.
Proficiency in inventory management systems and software applications like SAP or other ERP systems.
Intermediate to expert level experience with Microsoft Excel.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop team members.
Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge of inventory control best practices and continuous improvement methodologies.
