This position will be based on-site at our St. Petersburg, FL - Gandy Site.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Design, develop, and validate embedded software and control algorithms for power electronics applications, including real-time control, power conversion, and motor control systems.
Develop, debug, and optimize software for embedded systems using C/C++ and other relevant programming languages.
Work on DSP (Digital Signal Processor) and microcontroller programming, control algorithm designing, simulation and coding, embedded system integration, and communication protocols (e.g., CAN, SPI, UART).
Collaborate with system architects, hardware engineers, and cross-functional teams to ensure cohesive and innovative software solutions that meet all technical and customer requirements.
Manage the software development lifecycle, including design documentation, software testing, and functional verification.
Contribute to technology roadmaps and software architecture, ensuring scalability and efficiency.
Address and resolve complex technical challenges in embedded software while maintaining a focus on quality and efficiency.
Job Qualifications
Technical Knowledge & Skills
Extensive experience in embedded software development for power electronics or similar systems.
Hands-on experience with real-time embedded systems and firmware development for microcontrollers, such as TI C2000, Infineon Aurix, and NXP, STM32.
Strong proficiency in C/C++ programming and embedded software development tools.
Familiarity with typical power converter topologies and principal and power electronics industry standards is a plus.
Familiarity with power converter control algorithms and Matlab/Simulink modeling and simulation, especially three-phase inverter and Dual-Active Bridge DCDC converter; three-phase dual active bridge control is a plus.
Experience with communication protocols (e.g., I2C, SPI, UART, CAN) and debugging tools (e.g., JTAG, logic analyzers).
Non-Technical Knowledge & Skills
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and interact with stakeholders and customers.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with the ability to troubleshoot complex embedded systems.
Ability to work independently and manage priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Education & Experience Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Power Electronics, Embedded Software Engineering, or a related field (BSEE/MSEE or equivalent experience).
At least 5+ years of experience in embedded firmware development with a focus on power electronics embedded systems.
Or equivalent combination of experience, education, and/or training.
