Primary Responsibilities:
Assist our Emerging Regulations team, in the review of global environmental chemicals legislation, for its applicability to the J&J MedTech portfolio.
Provide technical guidance and interpretation to the MedTech Product Stewardship team, regarding global environmental chemicals legislation.
Assist in investigations to determine applicability and impact of various Product Stewardship requirements, for the MedTech businesses.
Provide technical support and guidance to business stakeholders, regarding compliance requirements under global environmental chemicals legislation such as REACH (and REACH-like), TSCA, California Proposition 65, etc.
Assist in developing communication materials to help elevate and escalate issues as relevant.
Assist in the development of the presentation materials for the monthly MedTech Chemicals Community of Practice (COP)
Provide advocacy support to relevant trade associations in EMEA, North America, APAC and LATAM regions.
Support various MedTech Chemical Working Groups and teams such as the Chemicals Community of Practice (COP) and the HMD Chemistry Support Team
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
Minimum of a Bachelor's degree required, Advanced Degree strongly desired; preferred fields of study include in Chemistry, Polymers, Materials Science, or related.
Minimum of five (5) years of experience with environmental chemicals legislation, such as REACH (and global REACH-like), TSCA, California Proposition 65, etc.
Five (5) or more years of experience with APAC/LATAM environmental chemicals legislation preferred.
Knowledge of toxicology principles (hazards, exposures, margin of safety, etc.) preferred.
Previous external advocacy experience through trade associations
Deep understanding of polymers and metal alloys - common reactants, synthetic routes, processing aids used, etc.
Experience working in cross-functional project teams.
Experience planning, organizing, managing, and communicating progress of multiple tasks.
Demonstrates credo-based leadership, customer focus, attention to detail, confidentiality, and accuracy and sound judgment in delivering project outcomes.
Excellent verbal/written communication skills
Strong reading comprehension skills (position requires a significant amount of reading of both scientific and legal text)
Strong analytical skills / ability to carefully consider an issue, and its many variables, without being paralyzed by indecision
Strong organizational skills
Strong communication skills
Strong technical acumen
Ability to collaborate cross-functionally.
General knowledge of medical devices and materials
The anticipated base pay range for this position is $89,000 to $143,750. The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation's performance over a calendar/performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company's discretion on an individual basis.

Holiday pay, including Floating Holidays - up to 13 days per calendar year of Work, Personal and Family Time - up to 40 hours per calendar year
