    Job Description:

    [Key responsibilities]

    • Build a professional EG team with competent SMEs, including Clinical Research lead, Clinical Epidemiologist, statistician, and data manager, etc.

    • Lead and motivate team member to provide professional support as a center of excellence across Therapeutic Areas (TAs) in close collaboration with TA teams and other related functions and external venders.

    • Lead the EG team to provide support for identifying Key Research Questions (KRQs) based on Integrated Evidence Generation Plan (IEGP) for strategic products in each disease area and propose specific clinical research methods and study design

    • Lead the EG team to provide support in RWE generation activities in collaboration external RWD companies and Academia, with appropriate methodologies and expertise

    • Lead the EG team to engage with internal operation divisions and CRO and ensure oversight of the execution of developed clinical research

    • Lead the EG team to analyze data obtained from research and interpret results and support publication of research outcome (manuscript preparation, congress presentation)

    • Lead the EG team to provide advice or support for planning and conducting advisory board meetings for prioritized strategic products as necessary, etc.

    • Lead key enterprise Data Science initiatives as a representative of Janssen Japan and act as an active committee member of Johnson & Johnson Japan cross-sector Data Science council.

    • With the integration of IEGP office since Jan. 2022, lead the team to oversee the IEGP process in collaboration with TA teams in MAF, IMAT, R&D and BU, etc., and optimize the process as necessary to pursue IEGP excellence

    Qualifications

    • Minimum of 5 years of experiences in a leadership role with people management skills

    • Business communication skills in Japanese and English

    • MD or PhD is preferred, degree or equivalent academic knowledge in epidemiology or closely related disciplines

    • Minimum 5 years of experience in epidemiology, outcome research, or related areas, including proposing observational research and preparing protocol

    • Ability to understand and interpret quantitative methods in medical research

    • Experience in using large-scale medical records database

    • Working experience in the healthcare industry such as pharmaceuticals, medical devices, or diagnostics is preferred

    • Experience in collaboration with public health/medical related authorities is preferred

    • Good leader, live by Credo Principles

    • Strong in strategic thinking and cross-functional collaboration

    • Strong in communication with the ability to articulate the EG strategy and plan with different internal/external stakeholders

    • Good logical thinker with good business acumen, especially in prioritization process across TAs

    • Flexibility and agility, respond to changes quickly
