    Principal Responsibilities:

    Providing leadership to a team of medical information managers to deliver high quality medical and scientific information to customers in the Belgium and Luxembourg, including the organization of the review and documentation of all external communication across all therapeutic areas of Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicines. In doing so the team closely collaborates with medical affairs and commercial colleagues to ensure our external communication is in compliance with applicable legislative frameworks on information and publicity in the Belgium and Luxembourg.

    Ensuring compliance of all JNJ activities in Belgium for matters in relation to the responsibilities of the Responsible person for Information and Publicity (RIP) in Belgium as defined by Royal Decree concerning Information and Publicity on medicines for human use (April 7th, 1995). In doing so, you closely collaborate with the Healthcare Compliance Officer, our internal legal counsel and the Medical Director

    Place in the organization

    The Medical Information Lead & RIP for JNJ Belux reports to the Medical Director. The Medical Director is a member of the Belgium/Luxembourg leadership team and has a solid reporting line to the Managing Director.

    Principal Activities

    • Ensuring adequate operations and processes covering the legal responsibility of JNJ on Information and Publicity in Belgium & Luxembourg

    • Performing formal I&P review & approval of all materials and ensuring adequate documentation.

    • Being the lead person for the organization for policies & procedures regarding the distribution of samples and dealing with medication requests for single patients.

    • Monitoring legislative frameworks as well as industry guidance in relation to sample distribution, single patient requests and the responsibilities of the RIP and keep company policies & procedures up-to-date with applicable rules and regulations.

    • Coordinating and leading the preparation of Belux Health Authority audits in relation to I&P, and participate in regulatory, business quality, pharmacovigilance, HCC or other functional audits where I&P is in scope

    • Collaborating and aligning with the Belux Customer Service Center, regulatory and medical affairs colleagues as well as with the EMEA Scientific Knowledge Management team.

    • Providing people leadership towards a team of medical information managers ensuring proper training, coaching, performance management and talent development.

    • Developing plans, processes, and SOP's (whenever appropriate) to optimize the creation and delivery of medical Information content, using different tools and channels. Ensuring proper use of systems (e.g. CRM system) and supervise if processes are driven according to applicable SOPs.

    • Developing and monitoring metrics in relation to medical information responses and I&P review and ensuring appropriate internal communication.

    • Creating an environment of collaboration, discussion and learning with internal customers in relation to I&P matters to drive efficient creation, review and production of quality content and ensuring adequate training of functions involved in the creation, review and production of content for external communication.

    Qualifications

    Functional skills required

    • A university (Master) degree or equivalent experience in pharmaceutical/biomedical/medical related science. The preferred candidate will have a Master degree or equivalent experience in science, pharmacy or medicine.

    • A solid experience within the pharmaceutical business environment (min 5 years) with a multi-year experience in team leadership role(s).

    • Shown ability and track record in functioning in a matrix environment, needing to build collaboration and partnerships across functions/groups.

    • A solid experience, in depth understanding and active knowledge in the field Information & Publicity in Belgium. The preferred candidate will have an official health authority recognition as RIP in Belgium.

    • Strong and shown business sense based on broad experience and consistent record in a management/leadership role

    • High result-orientation, ambition, creativity, and excellent negotiation skills.

    • High level of verbal and written communication skills, including effective listening and the ability to speak and write persuasively. Good active knowledge in English, Dutch and French.

    • Intellectual curiosity, critical thinking, self-awareness, and adaptability.

    • Ability to interact with senior management and senior representatives of external collaborators in a clear and concise manner and ability to argument, negotiate and acquire consensus.

    • Ability to work collaboratively and establish positive working relationships with industry, health authority and internal collaborators.
