egies for biologics drug substance production, with a strong emphasis on modeling and process control. You will collaborate closely with the Leiden site and the Global Process Science Modeling & Data teams to demonstrate the potential of model-based feedback control in revolutionizing cell culture processes.
Join us in shaping the future of biologics manufacturing and advancing the next generation of cell culture technologies!
Key Responsibilities:
Design mechanistic models to accurately capture the behavior of various cell lines in cell culture processes
Infer key model parameters' values from data
Design a model-based feedback control loop to dynamically optimize critical process parameters in real-time under hard and soft constraints
Partner with industry and academia to validate the developed models and control strategy
Work multi-functionally with internal teams to efficiently implement the designed control strategy
Present findings and innovations at internal meetings and external scientific conferences
Qualifications
PhD in a STEM field (e.g. Chemical Engineering, Physics, Computer Science or other relevant subject area)
A strong background in mechanistic modeling and optimization techniques
A strong background in model-based process control and state estimation techniques
Proficiency in scientific programming with Python and familiarity with Process Analytical Technology (PAT) tools and sensors
Familiarity with Bayesian modeling is a plus
Previous exposure to cell culture manufacturing in a pharmaceutical setting is a plus
Outstanding ability to identify, analyze, and proactively and independently address potential challenges
Excellent communication and teamwork skills and ability to work optimally within multi-functional teams
