    Position summary

    s Federal Government Relations Representative, you will support the KinderCare Learning Company's engagement with Congress, federal agencies, and other policymakers. You'll supervise and report on legislative and regulatory developments, help develop and implement the company's policy and advocacy strategies, and represent the organization's priorities to federal stakeholders.

    The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal skills, an understanding of federal policymaking processes, and the ability to build and manage relationships with government officials, trade associations, and coalition partners.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Monitor, analyze, and report on federal legislation, regulations, and policy trends relevant to the company.

    • Assist in the development and execution of federal advocacy strategies to advance company priorities.

    • Draft briefing materials, position papers, comment letters, and testimony for internal and external audiences.

    • Coordinate meetings with congressional staff, agency officials, and key stakeholders; prepare leadership and executives for external engagements.

    • Represent the organization in coalitions, industry associations, and professional networks.

    • Support the organization's political engagement efforts, including tracking hearings, markups, and votes.

    • Maintain and expand relationships with policymakers, legislative and agency staff, and relevant committees on Capitol Hill.

    • Provide regular updates and recommendations to internal leadership on federal issues affecting the company.

    • Assist with compliance reporting, including federal lobbying disclosures.

    • Travel up to 15% of the time.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Political Science, Public Policy, Communications, or related field (Master's degree a plus).

    • 3-5 years of experience in federal government relations, Capitol Hill, federal agencies, or trade associations.

    • Proven understanding of the federal legislative and regulatory processes.

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate sophisticated policy issues into clear, actionable messages.

    • Established proficiency in developing and upholding bipartisan relationships.

    • Highly organized, meticulous, and able to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.

    • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

    Preferred:

    • Proficiency in federal appropriations, authorizing committees, or key regulatory agencies that are essential to the organization's mission.

    • Existing network of congressional and agency contacts.
