    THE CHALLENGE (primary responsibilities)

    • Review and analyze customer requirements and use sound engineering principles to develop 3D CAD models and 2D drawings for production of aircraft modifications.

    • Perform drawing/model reviews for peers to ensure quality of work.

    • Communicate regularly with key stakeholders, subcontractors, and DoD officials for programmatic updates and requirements.

    • Utilize approval authority for configuration management processes.

    • Develop/implement procedures to improve team performance and efficiency.

    WHAT SETS YOU APART (basic qualifications)

    • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field with a minimum of eight (8) years of relevant experience; additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree.

    • Proficient using parametric 3D CAD software. Possible programs may include SolidWorks, Inventor, Solid Edge, NX, Creo, etc.

    • Extensive experience in mechanical design processes and best practices.

    • Experience with configuration management standards.

    • Experience with aircraft or static structures.

    • Ability to access various areas of different aircraft types, which may involve kneeling, stooping, standing, and lifting weights.

    • Ability to perform on-aircraft surveys in confined spaces against 2D drawings.

    • Must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET Security Clearance. Must be a U.S. citizen.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience designing structural components and/or sheet metal products.

    • Certified SolidWorks Professional

    • Experience with ISO9001 or AS9100 quality management processes

    • Experience designing for DoD customers.

    • Experience using a PDM/Vault system.

    • Experience in a design/production environment.

    • Excellent oral, written, and visual presentation communication skills.

    Pay Range:
    Pay Range $104,650.00 - $189,175.00

    The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
