    Position summary

    d post-delivery support. Your contributions will directly support the continued maturation of ship design solutions across all phases of design.

    Location : This is a hybrid remote position. Must be local and able to work onsite at our Design Center in Washington D.C. 2-3 days per week.

    Primary Responsibilities

    Support the DDG 51 Flight Upgrade branch and NAVSEA 05 as part of Gibbs & Cox's design site team in supporting the current design baseline and assessing potential future upgrades with key responsibilities including:

    • Hydrostatics (weight estimates, intact/ damage stability assessments)

    • Hydrodynamics (hull design, resistance predictions, seakeeping assessments)

    • Arrangements (general arrangements, compartment outfitting, aviation integration, topside integration)

    Basic Qualifications

    • U.S. Citizenship and ability to acquire Secret Security Clearance. Active Secret clearance preferred

    • BS or Advanced Degree in Naval Architecture or Marine Engineering

    • 0-2 years of professional of Naval or Marine engineering experience

    • Proficiency in Naval Architecture software tools such as: RHINO, GHS, SHCP, NavCAD, AutoCAD, MS-Office

    • Excellent communication skills (oral and written, both formal and informal)

    • Strong time management and organizational skills as an independent contributor

    Preferred Qualifications

    • PE license in Naval Architecture & Marine Engineering preferred

    • Experience with US Navy ship design and construction preferred

    Pay Range:
    Pay Range $55,250.00 - $99,875.00
