    Position summary

    e the tasks required with exceptional attention to detail, provide efficient and effective communication to stakeholders, and conduct decision making based on a thorough understanding of programs.

    • Budget Analysis (approximately 50% time)

      • Track spending and cost for contract line item (CLIN) types (e.g. ODC, travel, labor) to ensure sufficient funding is available for each research team.

      • Track contract performance dates and communicate required actions for government PIs and contract leadership.

      • Track expected incoming funds.

      • Record funds cancellation dates and the contract ACRNs that correspond to Network Activities (NWAs).

      • Perform routing and tracking of purchases for the department.

      • Coordinate funding transfers across NWAs.

      • Provide initial preparation of phasing plans.

      • Generate project IDs in Switchboard.

      • Prepare invoice and funding status documents to send to PIs.

      • Enter proposal budget data into required funding sponsor request format.

    • Research Program Analysis (approximately 25% time)

      • Complete travel and purchase forms for the team which adhere to command and contract policies

      • Conduct IRB protocol management, submission, and tracking

      • Conduct general organization of team documents (drives, files, certificates, etc.)

      • Conduct proposal administration and management tasks (obtain, create, and organize proposal supporting documents)

      • Attend required meetings and lead agenda items related to area of responsibility

    • Department Administration (approximately 25% time)

      • Manage department calendars, schedule department meetings, and communicate with attendees

      • Track department roster by updating org charts, adding new hires to the switchboard, and serve as the liaison between leadership and safety office during at hoc recalls

      • Support GEARS routing for various approvals, such as travel, authored works, purchases, data sharing agreements, collaterals, and letters of intent

      • Support department leadership in other administrative tasks

    • Travel domestically and internationally as required for project, program, and contract needs.

    • Perform other duties and responsibilities as required for the customer research mission.

    Basic Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution, in a relevant field

    • 4 years of relevant experience

    • Must have experience in a military research environment. Experience in Navy-specific human subjects research labs is strongly preferred.

    • Must have demonstrated experience with submission of human subjects research protocol documentation

    • Must have demonstrated experience with completion and submission of financial documentation for a research department, laboratory, or similar setting

    • Must have demonstrated success multi-tasking several high-priority action items simultaneously

    • Must be proficient in MS Office software and demonstrate basic computer competency.

    • Must be a US Citizen and be able to secure and maintain a Secret clearance.

    • Understand general routing and approval requirement for research protocols and financial documents within a Navy medical research laboratory

    • Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with interdisciplinary teams.

    • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

    • Ability to travel as directed to both domestic and international locations.

    • Must be able to work a consistent schedule during the NHRC's normal business hours between 0600-1800 Pacific time, to include attending planned and spontaneous video meetings, phone calls, email correspondence, and completion of quick turnaround tasks.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Master's degree preferred

    • Previous experience working within Navy human subjects research program documentation

    • Previous experience with human subject research budgets

    • A candidate with an active SECRET clearance is preferred.

    Pay Range:
    Pay Range $50,700.00 - $91,650.00

    The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
