    Job Responsibilities

    • Interact with and support members of the Undersea Health Epidemiology Research Program (UHERP) in the Warfighter Health and Protection (WHP) Department at the Naval Submarine Medical Research Laboratory in Groton, CT.

    • Provide support in all aspects of epidemiological research studies including planning, design, data collection, data analysis, publications, presentations, and administrative functions.

    • Attend project planning meetings and record notes and minutes.

    • Conduct data entry, assist with database and electronic file management, and track data pulls.

    • Prepare data for analysis through established data cleansing and aggregation methods.

    • Use statistical software to assist with data analysis, generate descriptive and inferential statistics, and present results using visualizations, summaries, and tables.

    • Aid in developing project timelines, tracking milestones, and ensuring deadlines are met.

    • Provide technical writing support for grant proposals, reports, presentations, posters, publications, and related products using Microsoft Excel, Word, Access, and PowerPoint.

    • Coordinate research activities, including creating and maintaining procedural documents and agreements (e.g., MOU/MOA, IRB protocol, SOP); track compliance.

    • Conduct literature searches, summarize findings, prepare bibliographies, and help with research protocols, publications, and briefing packages.

    • Prepare and submit travel and purchase requests with supporting documentation.

    • Assist with coordinating team activities and schedules.

    • Provide outreach, recruitment, and communication to potential and voluntary research participants including designing and implementing outreach/recruitment materials, assessing study eligibility, and scheduling study visits.

    • Assist with documentation of all work activities (e.g., lab notebooks, SOPs, data collection forms, technical reports, manuscripts, protocols, presentations, posters, documentation binders).

    • Complete required trainings (e.g., HIPAA, Privacy Act, CITI, etc.).

    • Perform various other tasks assigned toward project completion.

    • Travel may be required for meetings, conferences, or off-site data collection.

    • Due to the nature of the support being requested contract personnel may be required to sign Data sharing (DSA) or Data User (DUA) agreements or Non-disclosure agreements (NDA) for data sources.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in public health, epidemiology, biostatistics or related science or social science field.

    • Hands-on research experience.

    • Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.

    • Ability to work within a collaborative team environment, with demonstrated personal drive and initiative to achieve goals.

    • Interpersonal communication skills to interface with all teams, personnel, and vendors.

    • Ability to work self-sufficiently given direction and resources.

    • Ability to think critically, solve problems independently and exercise judgement and common sense.

    • Strong work ethic with demonstrated ability to effectively work with minimum supervision.

    • Ability to acquire, at a minimum, a SECRET classification access level. Preference will be given to a candidate who already has this clearance level, but current clearance is not required.

    • Due to Federal contract requirements, US citizenship is required.

    • Maintain a valid driver's license and a safe driving record.

    • Work is to be primarily performed on a government installation. The normal work week is Monday through Friday 0800 to 1630.

    • Some offsite travel (~10%) may be required for data collection efforts, presentations, etc.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Masters degree

    • Experience in a human subject research setting.

    • Experience working with the US federal government.

    • Experience working with military populations.

    • Experience working with electronic health records.

    • Experience with statistical software or programming language such as SPSS, R, or SAS.

    Pay Range:
    Pay Range $40,300.00 - $72,850.00
