    Position summary

    and convey analytic thoughts and assessments. The ideal candidate will have a passion for geographic information systems and a knack for turning complex information into compelling visual stories. This position is contingent upon contract award.

    What you'll be doing:

    • Utilize technology to design maps, graphics, illustrations, and layouts for Finished Intelligence (FINTEL) production.

    • Analyze and evaluate cartographic information to determine the most appropriate data sources for FINTEL.

    • Research, select, and evaluate map source data for use in the preparation or revision of maps and charts to various scales.

    • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior cartographers.

    What does Leidos need from me?

    • Must have an active Top Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI with Polygraph.

    • Minimum 12 years of experience related to the specific labor category with at least a portion of the experience within the last two years.

    • Demonstrated proficiency in professional cartography tools to include, but not limited to: ArcGIS Maps; Maya; ArcGIS CityEngine; ArcGIS Pro; ERDAS; RemoteView; ArcGIS Pro; ENVI; SOCET GXP; and ArcMap.

    • Knowledgeable of and demonstrated ability to apply IC and DoD classification guidelines and procedures.

    • Experience with DoD and IC imagery assets.

    • Demonstrated ability to provide cartographic guidance to junior team members.

    • Demonstrated ability to use logic when evaluating and synthesizing multiple sources of information.

    • Experience producing timely, logical, and concise cartographic products.

    • Experience communicating complex issues clearly in a concise and organized manner both verbally and non-verbally; with strong grammar skills.

    • Ability to research and obtain, evaluate, organize, and maintain information within security and data protocols.

    • Experience recognizing nuances and resolving contradictions and inconsistencies in information.

    • Working knowledge of complex analytic methodologies, such as structured analytic techniques or alternative approaches, to examine biases, assumptions, and theories to eliminate uncertainty, strengthen analytic arguments, and mitigate surprise.

    Favorable if you have:

    • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, Premiere, and Flash), Apple Final Cut Pro X, Map Publisher, and any other interactive graphics enablers, languages, or tools.

    • Demonstrated ability to define problems, supervise studies and lead surveys to collect and analyze data to provide advice and recommend solutions.

    • In-depth knowledge and demonstrable experience with the intelligence production cycle, executive intelligence production, graphic design, web development, and data science and related technologies.

    • Master's degree in an area related to cartography from a college or university accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education; or Bachelor's degree related to cartography from a college or university accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S.

    • Department of Education and an additional five years of related senior experience, for a total of 17 years, as a substitute to the Master's degree.

    Pay Range:
    Pay Range $98,150.00 - $177,425.00

    The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
