    Your New Role and Responsibilities

Joining our team as a Senior Database Administrator means becoming part of an exceptionally supportive and collaborative environment. While the team is known for its camaraderie and willingness to help, it is also composed of true experts in their field.

You'll be working on infrastructure that is genuinely unique-solutions and systems that are unmatched anywhere else in Australia.

This role provides the opportunity to contribute to groundbreaking work while being surrounded by some of the brightest minds in the industry.

A day of work with this team may include:

    • Starting your day by checking the health of a mission-critical SQL environment that powers operations across Australia and beyond

    • Diving into performance dashboards, ensuring everything runs smoothly for thousands of users.

    • Collaborating with application teams to troubleshoot a complex query issue or plan the rollout of a new database upgrade.

    • Scripting an automation in PowerShell to streamline patching, or designing a high-availability solution to keep our systems resilient.

Every day brings variety, technical challenges, and the satisfaction of knowing your work contributes to the management of critical Australian Infrastructure.

    What's in It for You?

    • Impact at Scale - Manage hundreds of enterprise SQL servers, influencing the performance of critical systems across multiple regions.

    • Cutting-Edge Tech - Work with advanced SQL Server features, Always On availability groups, clustering, and automation tools.

    • Continuous Growth - Exposure to large-scale environments and complex architectures means you'll keep learning and sharpening your skills.

    • Collaboration & Support - Join a team of highly skilled DBAs who share knowledge and tackle challenges together.

    • Stability & Security - Be part of an organisation that values data integrity and compliance, giving you confidence in the work you do.

What You'll Bring to Make An Impact

    • Proven experience managing enterprise-grade Microsoft SQL Server environments with deep knowledge of the SQL Server engine.

    • Strong background in virtualisation, Windows clustering, and related platform technologies.

    • Hands-on experience with high availability and disaster recovery setups like Always On, clustering, and log shipping.

    • Proficiency in PowerShell scripting to automate installations, patching, and health checks.

    • Solid understanding of backup strategies and data recovery processes to ensure business continuity.

Don't worry if you don't tick all the boxes - if you meet most of them, we encourage you to submit your application. We're most interested in your strengths, what you want to learn and how far you want to go.

Due to the nature of the role, you must be an Australian Citizen and hold an active NV-2 AGSVA security clearance.
