    Your New Role and Responsibilities

    The Workplace Health, Safety and Environmental Officer (WHSEO) is responsible for the efficient and cost-effective deployment of the company's WHS and Environmental strategy to best meet the Business needs and to direct, assist, train and coordinate management and employees on the requirements of legislation, regulations and standards.

    • Support and promote the Safety Management System (SMS), WHS Management System, and Quality Management System (QMS).

    • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of WHSE legislation and manage implementation of any relevant changes across the organisation. This includes ability to interpret relevant health and safety legislation (including applicable Acts, regulations, standards and codes of practice, policies and procedures).

    • Conduct and lead WHSE audits, inspections, and incident investigations, including root cause analysis and the implementation of corrective actions.

    • Develop and deliver WHSE training programs to ensure staff competency and awareness of their obligations and safe practices.

    • Interface with regulatory authorities, government agencies and other applicable third-party entities on WHSE matters to ensure we are compliant and meeting recognized standards and obligations.

    What You'll Bring to Make An Impact

    We need you to hold safety as a core value and contribute to the achievement of a zero harm and incident/injury free work environment through active participation in all safety programs relevant to the position. Alongside this, we are looking for:

    • Experience managing WHSE in the aviation sector.

    • Suitable tertiary qualifications in WHS or equivalent, or have a minimum of 3 years WHSE experience, preferably in aviation engineering.

    • WHS lead auditor and lead investigation qualifications.

    • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to work on multiple tasks concurrently to meet deadlines.

    • Ability to write, review and produce complex audit/investigation reports.

    • Experience in development and implementation of safety, quality and assurance management systems and cultures.

    • Experience in return-to-work coordination.

    This role does require the successful applicant to be an Australian Citizen and be willing to obtain and hold an Australian Government / Australian Border Force security clearance.
