    Position summary

    The role of Industrial Design at Lowe's is to design and develop solutions that align with the branding and design strategies of Lowe's Private Brands, meet merchandising and business requirements, and provide differentiated products from competitive national brands. This year's internship project will be to investigate and present a solution(s) for the Garage & Tool Storage category. Design solution(s) will be focused on storing Outdoor Power Equipment, Lawn & Garden products, as well as standard garage tool storage applications. Other work activities will include assisting the Design Team in current workload assignments.

    The Industrial Design intern will have an opportunity to work with design experts, learn Design for Retail, and experience the business of design within a FORTUNE® 50 company. This includes learning design trends in the DIY industry, understanding product life cycles, materials, and manufacturing processes, understanding design and development methodologies in Big Box retail, and working across development groups.

    Education and/or Experience:

    • Currently pursuing a bachelor's of science in industrial design or related fields from an accredited university with expected graduation dates of December 2025 or May 2026

    • Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA is required

    • Proficient in MS Office Programs (specifically Word, Excel, and Power Point), and Adobe CS

    • Strong collaborative, innovative, problem solving, organizational, and communication skills are required

    • Experience or pre-existing knowledge of CAD as well as qualitative and quantitative research skills are preferred

    • Relevant internship and experience is a plus, as is experience in a leadership position at work or within a campus organization
