Perform a variety of basic and increasingly complex work for SEC registered mutual funds under the general guidance of an attorney
Assist attorneys in the preparation of various disclosure documents, such as mutual fund prospectuses, Statements of Additional Information, Part Cs, and mutual fund information statement and proxy materials
Manage and update mutual fund prospectus disclosure. Work with financial printer to file electronic filings with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission's EDGAR database
Assist attorneys in the preparation of mutual fund board books and supporting fund governance materials. Prepares agendas and materials for board of trustees' meetings
Become proficient at using and maintaining on-line board book and document management system
Review and edit mutual fund annual and semiannual reports
Interact with clients and working team members to distribute draft documents for review and to coordinate receipt and reconciliation of client comments on distributions
Compose drafts of memoranda and other communications for clients and attorneys
Prepare and maintains compliance calendars for ongoing and anticipated projects, including regulatory filings and annual board approval items
The Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors' degree or Paralegal Certificate
2+ years of experience providing support to SEC registered mutual funds
The Ideal Qualifications
4 + years of experience providing support to SEC registered mutual funds
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Strong written and verbal communications skills
Able to multitask, embrace change and manage well under pressure
Operates with a high level of confidentiality as it relates to client and firm
Experienced with project management, working collaboratively in a team environment
