Changer will make sure the battery chargers are working properly and notifying Maintenance Specialist & Supervisor of any needed repair, maintain the power battery chargers in top operating condition as well as testing and repairing all lead acid industrial batteries.

What you'll do as a Warehouse Maintenance I - Battery Mechanic:

  • Responsibilities for periodic condition-based maintenance inspections.

  • Change batteries in all plant forklifts and reach trucks

  • Complete all record keeping for battery changers, conditioning & watering

  • Inspect and clean forklift order picker and reach truck lead acid batteries

  • Clean batteries on an on-going basis including battery racks with acid build up and add water to all batteries as needed

  • Inspect eye wash station weekly

  • Inspect and maintain battery changer daily.

  • Replace battery cables and battery charger ends as necessary

  • Rebuild (replace battery cells) as necessary

Qualifications you'll bring as a Warehouse Teammate:

  • At least 18 years of age.

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.

  • At least 1 year of professional experience in industrial maintenance.

  • At least 1 year of maintenance experience with material handling equipment.

  • Able to read and understand electrical schematics.

  • Experience with distribution center industrial equipment, including (but not limited to) forklifts, reach trucks, order pickers, tuggers, and carts.

  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations.

  • Basic computer skills with experience in a maintenance database such as MP2, DataStream 7i, or Maintenance Connection.

  • This position requires the ability to read, write, and understand English at a level sufficient to perform job-related tasks effectively and safely. This includes understanding work instructions, safety protocols, and communications essential to the role. The requirement is directly related to the nature of the job and ensures compliance with workplace safety and operational standards.
