  • Optimize Inventory: Maintain optimal levels of production materials, small parts, expense items, and fixed assets—both domestic and imported—to support uninterrupted operations.

  • Analyze Market Trends: Evaluate specifications and market conditions to determine the best sourcing options. Provide updates to Sales, Marketing, and Management on pricing shifts and material availability.

  • Support Customer Needs: Communicate with Sales regarding significant price movements and help fulfill urgent component requirements for field service issues.

  • Manage Purchase Orders: Review requisitions, assign purchase order numbers, and verify accuracy of computer-generated POs, delivery dates, and closing processes.

  • Oversee Supplier Base: Manage vendors to provide forecast data, establish delivery terms, and ensure alignment with production requirements.

  • Interpret Technical Specs: Review technical diagrams and specifications to aid in developing solutions and securing expedited deliveries.

  • Track Supplier Metrics: Maintain performance records for delivery, cost, and responsiveness. Drive continuous improvement in supplier performance and report results.

  • Handle Returns & Logistics: Negotiate defective material returns, obtain RMAs, and coordinate transportation.

  • Travel as Needed: Visit domestic and international suppliers to strengthen relationships and resolve quality, cost, and delivery challenges.

  • Maintain Accurate Data: Ensure completeness and accuracy of all Item Master fields tied to purchasing.

What You Bring

  • Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or a related discipline, plus at least 5 years of purchasing and/or materials coordination experience (or equivalent mix of education and experience).

  • Supply Chain Expertise: Intermediate knowledge of supply chain systems, ERP/MRP practices, and procurement techniques.

  • Analytical Skills: Advanced problem-solving and decision-making abilities with a focus on efficiency and cost savings.

  • Technology Proficiency: Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Office and ERP/MRP systems.

  • Communication Strength: Exceptional interpersonal and negotiation skills to interact effectively with employees, vendors, and stakeholders.
