Position summary

nd/or improvement of existing system and components.

  • Assist with the creation of proposals including budgets, schedules and technical specifications.

  • Meet with customers and end-users to discuss and resolve technical, financial, and schedule issues. Perform evaluations of failure and defects as assigned.

  • Develop, prepare and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) and design drawings.

  • Issue and maintain product manuals, training documents, presentations, contractual documents, etc.

  • Originate, select and/or maintain purchasing specifications for all components of product(s).

  • Support field service work by providing information and troubleshooting equipment both remotely and in person.

  • Develop and/or approve assembly and test processes. Direct and coordinate assembly and testing of prototype products.

  • Identify U.S. components to replace imported components and participate in vendor qualification.

  • Work with component suppliers to optimize design, improve quality, and reduce costs.

  • Perform product and equipment testing. Compile and analyze operational, test, and research data.

  • Assist and support Manufacturing, Quality and Sales departments with production and documentation needs.

  • Further the goals and positive, professional image of the Department by conducting business with outside contacts and other MEPPI departments in a timely and cooperative manner.

  • Know MEPPI's Quality, Safety and Environmental Policies. Be able to fully discuss the importance of these and their impact in the workplace.

What You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical or mechanical engineering with 0-2 years' experience in a design engineering capacity, or equivalent education and experience.

  • Intermediate interpersonal, communication and presentation skills required to communicate with customers, employees, and suppliers.

  • Ability to work in a team environment and on several projects simultaneously.

  • Ability to read, understand and create technical drawings and material.

  • Intermediate analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Intermediate computer skills, with emphasis on Microsoft Office products, CAD software, and ERP/MRP systems.

  • Ability to travel up to 20% domestically and internationally as required.
