Position summary

  • Prepare and maintain drawing revision control and documentation to ensure CAD data integrity.

  • Evaluate existing designs for cost effectiveness in collaboration with engineers, production personnel, and vendors.

  • Recommend improvements to enhance product cost, quality, and manufacturing efficiency across mechanical and electrical aspects.

  • Interpret customer specifications and drawings, converting them into Division production drawings.

  • Train and guide Division Designers and Drafters as needed.

  • Maintain the Division's CAD system, including file structures, upgrades, and data management.

  • Develop and maintain drafting Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

  • Coordinate CAD-related responsibilities, scheduling training, and communicating software updates.

  • Act as the subject matter expert for CAD technology, providing support for new features and upgrades.

  • Oversee product data management software maintenance and processes.

  • Collaborate with the Company's Information Technology Department as needed.

  • Travel to vendors as necessary.

What You Bring:

  • An associate's degree in drafting or design technologies plus at least 8 years of mechanical and electrical drafting experience, or equivalent education and experience.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Advanced knowledge of 3D modeling, electrical schematics, and wiring diagrams.

  • Expertise in CAD, solid modeling, drafting techniques, and design software.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other design-related applications.
