Diagnose and Document: Inspect, test, and document the status and defects of returned products and systems to determine cause of failure and recommend corrective actions.
Stay Ready for Emergencies: Provide scheduled and on-call emergency field service and technical support to help customers maintain critical cooling operations without interruption.
Collaborate and Innovate: Work with other MEPPI departments to support product improvements and customer satisfaction initiatives.
Master the Details: Troubleshoot and repair routine HVAC system and refrigerant-related issues; escalate complex or non-routine problems as appropriate.
Advocate for Upgrades: Identify and recommend system upgrades and preventive maintenance services to optimize long-term performance and efficiency.
Troubleshoot with Precision: Evaluate, diagnose, and resolve issues in refrigeration, electrical, and control systems using schematic diagrams, test equipment, and technical documents.
Create Clear Records: Maintain comprehensive service logs and documentation for all installation, testing, and maintenance activities.
Mentor Future Talent: Assist in training and guiding less experienced technicians in best practices and technical troubleshooting.
Stay Professional: Submit accurate expense reports in a timely manner, adhering to company travel and expense guidelines.
What You Bring:
Education: Associate degree in HVAC, Electrical, Electronics, or a related technical field, with 2–5 years of experience troubleshooting and repairing HVAC systems—or equivalent education and experience.
Technical Expertise: Intermediate knowledge of HVAC systems gained through experience or successful completion of specialized technical training.
Certifications: EPA Section 608 Certification required.
Analytical Skills: Advanced problem-solving and analytical abilities, with demonstrated success in diagnosing and resolving complex technical issues.
Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively support customers, peers, and partners.
Technical Knowledge: Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, blueprints, and bills of materials.
Technology Proficiency: Proficiency with mechanical and electronic test equipment, Microsoft Office applications, timekeeping, and expense reporting systems.
Requirements: Must hold a valid driver's license and be able to rent vehicles as needed.
