  • Customer Engagement – Serve as a key interface with transit agencies, consultants, and car builders to develop program specifications, manage expectations, and maintain relationships throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Team Management – Lead and mentor Program Managers, Account Managers, and administrative staff. Provide direction aligned with company policy and program objectives while fostering professional development.

  • Global Collaboration – Work closely with Mitsubishi Electric counterparts in Tokyo, Itami, and Nagasaki to define program scope, coordinate deliverables, and align on execution strategies.

  • Contract & Schedule Oversight – Develop, maintain, and monitor project schedules and cost data to meet production, delivery, and contractual obligations. Ensure compliance with technical specifications and statutory requirements.

  • Field Operations – Support commissioning and warranty activities in the field, working with Field Service, procurement, and quality assurance teams to resolve issues and ensure customer satisfaction.

  • Change Management – Coordinate,quote, and negotiate change orders and spare parts with customers and MELCO. Provide clear documentation and approval processes.

  • Budget & Reporting – Manage the Programs Department operating budget, and contribute to annual staffing and business plans..

  • Process Improvement – Lead lessons-learned initiatives and implement best practices to improve program delivery and customer outcomes.

  • Representation – Uphold and promote MEPPI's positive, professional image in all interactions with customers, partners, and Mitsubishi Electric Corporation organizations.

What You'll Bring

  • Education – Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field is required. PMP certification is a plus.

  • Experience – At least 10 years of program management experience in transit or capital equipment industries, with 5 years in a formal leadership role managing people and programs.

  • Industry Knowledge – Deep understanding of rail/transit operations including onboard and wayside systems. Experience with large-scale transit programs and contract deliverables is essential.

  • Leadership – Proven ability to lead teams, resolve conflict, and build long-term relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Technical & Analytical Skills – Strong grasp of program scheduling, cost analysis, and issue resolution. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and business systems.

  • Cultural Awareness – Ability to work in multicultural settings and collaborate with Japanese counterparts effectively.
