Position summary

  • Review activity reports and financial statements to determine progress and status in attaining objectives and revise objectives and plans as needed. Manage the budgets and facilities of the departments in the Service product line.

  • Manage service and replacement projects to the schedule, revenue and profitability commitments of the business.

  • Manage and direct staff according to Company policies and procedures to effectively achieve division and department objectives. Develop employees by training, cross training, and providing continuing education opportunities. Conduct performance reviews and provide input for salary decisions.

  • Develop national service contract strategies and with detailed objectives for service sales team for Transmission and Distribution services.

  • Negotiate with customers on issues relating to product warranties, product life cycles, replacement alternatives, and field quality incident resolutions.

  • Manage spare parts supply chain and remote storage facility inventories.

  • Manage relationships with customers and service providers.

  • Manage proposals, negotiate contracts and manage risk assessments per Company Limits of Authority (LOA)

  • Finalize, maintain and execute the growth strategy roadmap for the service product line and related strategies.

  • Support SCD's General Manager as needed and make recommendations to improve Company policies and procedures.

  • Further the goals and positive, professional image of the Division by conducting business with outside contacts and other MEPPI departments in a timely and cooperative manner.

  • Know MEPPI's Quality, Safety and Environmental Policies. Be able to fully discuss the importance of these policies and their impact in the workplace.

EDUCATION/SPECIAL SKILLS/EXPERIENCE/TRAINING:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business or related technical or commercial field with a minimum of 10 years of service management experience and a minimum 5 years' management experience, or equivalent education and experience.
  • Knowledge of utility power systems and service market dynamics.
  • Experience with product line development within the service sector.
  • Ability to read, understand and negotiate contracts and proposal language.
  • Advanced interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills required to communicate with employees, vendors and customers.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills with emphasis on resolving technical issues.
  • Ability to work in multicultural environments with emphasis on Japanese culture.
  • Developed computer skills with emphasis on MS Office products, such as Word, Excel and MS Project, to prepare reports, analyses and schedules.
