Develop Strategic Sourcing Plans: Create opportunity-specific sourcing strategies, conduct supplier evaluations and risk analysis, and present supplier recommendations to stakeholders.
Support Proposal Activity: Lead supply chain efforts for proposal teams by providing purchasing and supply chain guidance throughout the proposal development process.
Control Costs & Mitigate Risk: Identify and track cost savings and overruns; facilitate resolution between engineering teams and suppliers to address cost and technical challenges.
Resolve Supplier Issues: Serve as the primary liaison between suppliers and MEPPI to resolve commercial and technical issues; negotiate non-conforming material cost recovery and manage supplier chargebacks.
Monitor Supplier Performance: Track supplier performance for cost, delivery, quality, and contract compliance; implement procurement strategies to reduce current and future costs.
Execute Procurement Activities: Plan, schedule, and issue purchase orders for products, parts, and services according to forecasts, customer requirements, and internal requisitions while complying with MEPPI's Limits of Authority policy.
Represent the Division Professionally: Further SCD's goals and positive image through effective collaboration with customers and internal departments and divisions.
What You Bring
Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
Minimum of 8 years of experience in purchasing and managing supplier contracts and agreements, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Technical & Functional Expertise:
Advanced skills in supply chain systems and sourcing techniques, including seasoned negotiation capabilities
Advanced knowledge of UPS or other power quality–related equipment, products, and services
Skills & Attributes:
Advanced interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple internal and external stakeholders
Technology Proficiency:
Advanced computer skills with emphasis on Microsoft Office and MRP/ERP systems
