What You'll Do
Conduct load flow, transient stability, reactive planning, infrastructure reinforcement, generator interconnection, and related studies, including FACTS, HVDC, and converter-based resources utilizing PSLF and PSS/E software.
Set up, modify, and run power flow, contingency N 1 and N 2, short circuit, and transient stability analyses.
Develop simulation cases using tools such as PSLF, TARA, and PSSE.
Identify modeling gaps, data issues, or numerical problems and propose corrective actions.
Perform first-level technical review of results before senior review.
Prepare complete technical sections of reports, including interpretation of results.
Manage assigned tasks, priorities, and deadlines with minimal supervision.
Provide technical support and guidance to entry-level engineers.
Independently use Python, Matlab, and other tools to automate data analysis, data monitoring, reporting, and ensuring data integrity.
Increase efficiency, expand capabilities, and support coworker use of software tools used in power systems engineering studies.
Independently prepare, present, and support others with preparation and delivery of technical reports and presentations to internal and external customers on schedule, within quality standards, with minimal re-work, and positive internal and external feedback. Ensure consistent report quality by adhering to grammar and formatting standards.
Achieve, enhance quality standards, and set an example for meeting schedules for simulation model development, analytics, and reporting. Use, lead, and enhance an engineered process throughout each stage of the study.
Further the teams' ability to condition models and judge simulation output based on expected system and equipment capabilities and operation. Further teams' ability to estimate system and equipment parameters based on known values, where applicable, or to provide feedback when such values are questionable.
What You Bring
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
Minimum of 3 years of demonstrated experience in power system consulting.
Proven experience executing power system studies independently under defined scope.
Demonstrated hands on experience with PowerGEM TARA and PSLF, including case setup, execution, and results review
