    The Role:

    The Communications Strategist plays a pivotal role positioning Moody's in the media as an integrated-risk assessment firm. The role is that of a trusted communications counsellor to a wide spectrum of internal stakeholders who will:

    • Assume responsibility for all communications, both internal and external, across multiple Latin American markets, including Brazil.

    • Lead to the creation and implementation of communications strategies in support of a wide range of business units within Moody's.

    • Be responsible for developing and maintaining media relationships, ensuring robust relationships with journalists covering Moody's content.

    • Respond to media inquiries by providing solutions content, ratings, research, and facilitating access to analysts, economists, product specialists and subject matter experts.

    • Engage in proactive outreach to the media through targeted distributions of promotional digital content (podcasts, videos, infographics) and reports, e-mails, phone calls, briefings, interviews, background meetings, etc.

    • Update media contacts database, manage our media engagement trackers, and maintain detailed records of media activity, ensuring that all inquiries, communications campaigns, contacts, engagement metrics, and meeting data are recorded in a timely, accurate, and comprehensive fashion.

    • Manage media monitoring tools, including Meltwater and Factiva, to ensure effective tracking of relevant news and trends. Create and contribute to monitoring, analysis, and reporting on media coverage relative to competitors.

    • Monitor and administer the team's projects using Trello.

    • Develop and post clear, concise and engaging social media content, with a focus on LinkedIn and X. Track, analyze and report on content performance.

    • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism or a related field.

    • A minimum of 3 years of communications and media relations experience in a corporate environment, ideally within the financial services sector.

    • Ability to successfully handle communications and build/maintain media relationships.

    • Strong and persuasive verbal and written skills (concise, impactful, compelling content).

    • Experience in successfully promoting social media content.

    • Attention to detail and ability to prioritize and handle a variety of tasks simultaneously under tight deadlines.

    • Ability to solve problems creatively and effectively.

    • Must be a professional, creative, organized, enthusiastic and flexible individual, who can work effectively both as a collaborative team member and independently.

    • Computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office 360, specifically Teams, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and SharePoint.

    • Experience with media monitoring tools, such as Meltwater and Factiva, is a plus.

    • Must be fluent in both Spanish and Portuguese, proficient in English.
