    In this role you will report directly to the LatAm Controller and lead a team of 2 Sr Accountants based in Mexico City, Mexico.

    WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON

    • Apply APLA Controlling guidance regarding inventory related accounting policies

    • Capture and deliver measurable value through business partnership, including performing technical research on accounting issues and consulting with business partners on key topics

    • Work closely with Financial Planning, Demand Supply Management, and Operations teams to understand financial statement impact of Supply Chain related items, inform the quarterly forecasts, and ensure LatAm alignment prior to close

    • Support on designing and implementing effective controls to manage financial reporting risk across the LatAm inventory and supply chain processes

    • Provide timely accounting positions, financial insights and operational considerations to enable informed decision making

    • Monitor standardized, scalable and controlled inventory and supply chain processes and transactions aligned with global policies

    • Perform the monthly and quarterly financial statement close process according to US GAAP

    • Drive operational excellence through the identification and operationalization of simplification, standardization, and automation opportunities for inventory and supply chain accounting processes

    • Ensure new supply chain strategies / business models are effectively set up and validated, with complete, accurate and well controlled financial reporting

    • Be a subject matter expert on assigned areas, supporting Internal & External Audit and SOX & local statutory compliance work

    WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH

    Reporting to the LatAm Controller, this role is a critical finance partner for the NIKE LatAm territories (Mexico as owned and operated, and Central & South America as distributor model) and APLA Supply Chain & Inventory Accounting. You will lead and guide the territory inventory accounting team (2 Sr Accountants) and have interactions with various LatAm stakeholders, working closely to the LatAm Financial Planning, Demand Supply Management, Distribution Center Operations and Record to Report Shared Delivery teams.

    WHAT YOU BRING

    • A minimum of 7 years of experience in accounting, finance or related functions & Certified Public Accountant (CPA), or the equivalent, is preferred
    • Knowledge and application of US GAAP around Inventory accounting required
    • Experience with ERP accounting and finance systems such as SAP or Oracle is required
    • Experience with a Fortune 500/multinational consumer products company is preferred
    • Fluent in both English and Spanish preferred
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills & a proven ability to communicate complex and/or controversial topics and concepts to a wide and diverse audience, including meeting facilitation and presentations with senior leadership team
    • High standards for quality and advanced ability to handle multiple, competing priorities and requests
    • People management experience is desired
    • Experience working with a managed service provider is a plus
    • Ability to pass a 7-year background check
