WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We are seeking a Senior Principal to assume design ownership for all phases of commercial projects. This role includes responsibilities in programming, space planning, concept design, technical documentation, finish specifications, and construction administration. The ideal candidate will lead presentations with business stakeholders and external vendors, conduct vendor interviews, and represent our company on a global scale. Additionally, they will manage the production of design deliverables, including architectural drawings, brand packaging, mock-ups, technical documentation, and FFE (Furniture, Fixtures, and Equipment) specifications.
The Senior Principal will ensure that projects are delivered in an organized manner, maintaining schedules and budgets. They will collaborate closely with regional Nike offices and leadership to drive business development initiatives, as well as identify and manage strategic vendors, overseeing the process from program definition to building activation.
We are looking for someone with:
A Bachelor's degree or higher in Architecture or Interior Design from an accredited program.
NCIDQ (National Council for Interior Design Qualification) licensure or Registered Architect status.
At least 10 years of experience in architecture and commercial interior design, including workplace strategy, environmental branding, and facilities management.
Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, Bluebeam, and PowerPoint. Experience with 3DS Max, Rhino, Grasshopper, or Enscape is a plus.
Exceptional storytelling and communication skills, with the ability to articulate the design vision and persuade a diverse audience.
A passion for nurturing creativity among vendors and teammates, while demonstrating the ability to lead by example.
The ability to develop and cultivate strategic partnerships with internal executive leadership, municipal officials, external vendors, and project and facility managers.
Advanced knowledge of the architectural planning and design process, including code requirements and building systems-structural, MEP, and fire/life safety.
A demonstrated commitment to resilience and sustainable building practices, with experience in completed works that focus on sustainable solutions, carbon-neutral goals, WELL/Fit/LEED accredited projects, and/or net-zero design.
Approximately 15% travel required within China and Greater Asia.
