Northrop Grumman, Mission Systems is looking for a leader to support the Airborne Multifunction Sensors (AMS) Division's business and strategy objectives. The position will be the primary interface to integrate customer accounts to our capabilities to enable growth in awards and market position. This role will also be able to identify, prioritize and guide key internal research and development (R&D) and contract R&D technology projects in order to successfully transition into airborne systems avionics capabilities and AMS sales. This is an onsite opportunity located in Baltimore, MD.
The successful candidate would effectively interface and cultivate strategic customer relations with U.S. Navy and U.S. Air Force Services as well as with the primes. Key activities include customer engagement, market assessment, competitive assessment, product development, and with a strong emphasis on capture, strategy and execution. Determining customer operational gaps and requirements, and helping establish internal research and development (R&D) priorities to answer these gaps for both domestic and international customers, is crucial.
This position will involve deep understanding of DoD business practices, requirements generation, and acquisition. The ability to articulate platform mission utility, and AMS mission solution strategies for these platforms is critical. The successful candidate will effectively translate AMS investments and its product line portfolio into compelling solutions for prime contractors to meet
AMS sales goals.
Primary responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Campaign Program Management, Test and Investment Oversight: Planning, Programming, Execution Overview and Flight Test Collaboration
Lead Alignment of Warfighter Gaps / Requirements to AMS / Sector Strategic Capture Investments
Drive growth by mapping/aligning market and competitive assessments, Division lines of effort/business focus to Mission/Customer and Product Line priorities with Combat Sensors, Tactical Fighters, and AMC
IPT Leader/Manager for Long Range Strategic Planning and Internal/Contract R&D and Emerging Market/Addressable Market Opportunities
Program Manage relationships with business accelerators, technology transition partners, market and financial assessments to inform potential investment opportunities
Other Duties As Assigned Driving Value within SMS Including BU / Customer Engagement Interaction, Mission System Design Architectural Reviews
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelors degree with 10 years of related experience in technical, business development and analysis, business management; Master's w/ 8 years..
Experience leading the performance of tasks on schedule, at cost and achieving all requirements as either project lead, integrated program team or cost account manager.
Demonstrated success aligning teams, organizations or employee resource groups to achieve a common goal and developing deep customer relationships through understanding and trust.
Excellent written and oral presentation skills including the ability to generate written material to communicate to customers at all levels, including senior executives.
Active US DoD Secret clearance (in scope) and the ability to qualify for access to Special Access Programs (SAPs).
Preferred Qualifications:
Active US DoD Top Secret clearance, SAP, and SCI clearances.
MS or MA degree
USAF/USMC/USN/International/Coalition customer knowledge in airborne radar, infrared, fire control systems, electronic warfare, threat systems, and datalinks
Programmatic and technical understanding of advanced airborne radar system architectures, infrared targeting systems, EW systems requirements, applications and avionics integration.
Deep understanding of DoD PPBE, Congressional budgeting, and DoD acquisition processes to include Other Transaction Authority (OTA) processes.
Ability to apply entrepreneurial approaches to expand aerospace systems markets. Ability to integrate multiple advanced technologies into mission level capabilities.
*Salary Range: *$156,800 - $235,200
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
