    Northrop Grumman SSSD is seeking an* Operations Support Manager 2 *working as part of a motivated, diverse, and technically talented group located at a field site in Alice Springs, Australia.
    The Operations Section Manager is a dual-hat Engineering Manager responsible for both section management (up to 20% of time) and existing program responsibilities (80% or more of time). Along with providing direct technical contributions to the Rushmore program, the Section Manager is also a member of the Rushmore functional management organization.
    The Section Manager shall be the functional management point of contact at the work site for 10-12 members of the Rushmore operations team and will support and implement activities supporting Space Systems initiatives, reporting directly to the work site's Senior Operations Manager.
    Role and Responsibilities

    • Ensuring members have sufficient scope of work, balancing resources among program responsibilities and verifying proper charging practices are followed, including timecard approval

    • Developing employee talent, facilitating career conversations, strengthening functional skills bench depth, and fostering employee engagement

    • Managing member performance, creating and delivering performance evaluations, overseeing the salary review process, and supervising employee development and mentoring efforts (including engagement strategies for higher performers and corrective actions for lower performers)

    • Supporting the Rushmore recruiting, on-boarding, OCONUS deployment and CONUS repatriation process for assigned direct reports

    Basic Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) discipline plus 8 years of engineering experience *OR *Master's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) discipline plus 6 years of engineering experience

    • Proven leadership experience on a project and/or team.

    • Experience in the Aerospace and Defense Industry.

    • Active SCI (Sensitive Compartmented Information) access* is required at time of application *

    • Candidate must be able to pass CI Poly Examination prior to start date

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • MS in Systems Engineering, Technical Management, or related fields

    • Demonstrated experience in Rushmore Operations

    • Previous leadership experience.

    • Proactive leadership skills, demonstrated communication and teamwork skills

    • Ability to effectively interface with other Engineering and Production disciplines across the Sector, as well as Programs, Business Development, HR, Mission Assurance, etc.

    • Previously completed CI polygraph examination

    Salary Range: $142,200.00 - $213,400.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
