    Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a *Principal Systems Engineer/Sr. Principal Systems Engineer *in support of the Sentinel program. This opening may be in Roy, UT and will support the Sentinel Program. Northrop Grumman supports the Air Force's sustainment, development, production and deployment of hardware and system modifications for Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Ground and Airborne Launch Control Systems, Launch Facilities, and associated infrastructure.
    *What you will get to do: *
    This candidate will join the Sentinel Systems Engineering, Integration, & Test (SEIT) Segment and be a contributing member of the Software & System Integration (SSI) Weapon System Integration (WSI) team. This multi-tiered and multi-disciplined team assesses design compatibilities across the Weapon System (WS) Segment teams. The team serves as the objective integrators to ensure balanced requirement definition influences design space/decisions that ultimately ensures full-lifecycle capability effectiveness. Candidates must be able to understand the intent of WS design at the highest levels and drive engineering processes & analyses into specific product team designs to prove successful design integration and analyze for potential gaps. The successful candidate will clearly demonstrate strong leadership and foundational systems engineering skills to drive process and technical gap resolution of interface and requirement design solutions to achieve program and contract objectives. Demonstrated ability to foster diverse and inclusive teams with high levels of engagement, including mentoring and coaching, are a must. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required, and the ideal candidate will have demonstrated success collaborating and leading Engineering teams.

    • Demonstrate leadership principles - Integrity, respect, organizational, communication etc

    • Be proficient in the development of key system engineering artifacts such as requirement specifications and interface definition documents.

    • Ensure appropriate coordination between SEIT and other integration teams

    • Participate in technical planning, verification and validation development, cost and risk considerations, and requirements analyses for integrated systems
      Basic Qualifications:

    • Sr. Principal Systems Engineer - 8 Years of related experience with Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline; 6 Years with Masters; 4 Years with PhD

    • OR

    • Principal Systems Engineer - 5 Years of related experience with Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline; 3 Years with Masters; 1 Year with PhD

    • Must be a US Citizen with an active DoD Secret Clearance with an investigation date within the last 6 years

    • Must be able to be successfully screened for Enhanced Security Clearances, within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs

    • 2 years of working experience on ICBMs

    • 2 years of Systems Engineering experience

    • 2 years of DOORS or related experience
      Preferred Qualifications:

    • Past/Active employment with MMIII or Sentinel Weapon Systems

    • Experience contributing towards various phases of a program lifecycle

    • Experience contributing towards various phases of the Systems Engineering "V" lifecycle

    • Experience with developing architectural diagrams

    • Earned Value Management experience

    • Risk Management experience

    • Experience with team leadership/management

    • Direct development experience of interface products (IRS, IDD, ICD) and requirement specifications

    • Demonstrated proficiency in analytical thinking and problem-solving skills and Systems Thinking mindset

    • Experience with creating and executing to schedule & technical recovery plans

    • Strong work ethic and the ability to work self-sufficiently

    • Experience working across program organizations to find solutions

    • Excellent decision making and communication (written and oral) skills

      This position's standard work schedule is 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

      Salary Range: $95,300.00 - $142,900.00Salary Range 2: $118,600.00 - $178,000.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
