    Position summary

    e Cloud Engineer provides all components of Cloud solution delivery including compute resources, storage, networking, and security

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES

    Cloud Security and Compliance:

    • Implement security best practices and ensure cloud infrastructure is secure from threats and vulnerabilities.
    • Implement access controls, encryption mechanisms, and data protection measures.
    • Monitor and respond to security incidents, perform regular vulnerability assessments, and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.

    Cloud Infrastructure Implementation:

    • Implement scalable and highly available cloud architectures, including virtual networks, storage, and compute resources.
    • Configure and manage cloud services like virtual machines, containers, serverless computing, databases, load balancers, and CDN (Content Delivery Network) services.

    Cloud Automation and Orchestration:

    • Develop automation scripts and templates to streamline cloud infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and application deployment processes.
    • Utilize infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools such as CloudFormation to automate the deployment and management of cloud resources.
    • Implement continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines to enable efficient software delivery and updates.

    Performance Monitoring and Optimization:

    • Monitor cloud infrastructure performance, identify bottlenecks, and optimize resource utilization.
    • Implement monitoring and alerting systems to proactively identify and resolve performance issues.
    • Implementing monitoring solutions for AWS infrastructure (Cloudwatch) components.
    • Set up logging, alerting, and troubleshooting procedures for AWS deployments

    Collaboration and Documentation:

    Create and maintain technical documentation, deployment guides, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Bachelor's Degree (BS), Computer Science or Information Systems desired.
    • At least 3 years of experience working with cloud based infrastructure and solutions
    • In-depth understanding of cloud computing concepts, designs, and services.
    • Experience with scripting and automation using languages such as Python, or shell scripting.
    • Familiarity with DevOps principles and tools, including CI/CD pipelines and version control systems (e.g., Git).
    • Understanding of core AWS services (EC2, VPCs, IAM, S3, load balancers, etc.)
    • Understanding of security best practices and compliance frameworks.
    • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
    • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities

    • Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from market participants, regulatory agencies or members of the business community. Ability to write presentations and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively communicate security and risk-related concepts to technical and nontechnical audiences.
    • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
    • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. High level of personal integrity, and the ability to professionally handle confidential matters and exude the appropriate level of judgment and maturity.
    • Proficient with personal computers; experience with productivity software, such as Windows, Microsoft Office software and so forth.
    • Project management skills; financial/budget management, scheduling and resource management. Ability to lead and motivate cross-functional, interdisciplinary teams to achieve tactical and strategic goals. Experience with contract and vendor negotiations.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT

    The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Contact with staff and public will occur. Travel may be required to attend and/or conduct meetings, conferences and training. This position may require work on nights, weekends or holidays.

    $76,200-$127,200 USD
