Job Summary
PSEG is looking for an Intern for the Office of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion
This job involves working as a(n) User Experience Intern for the Enterprise Diversity, Equity and Inclusion team at PSEG. This assignment involves working as a UX/UI designer for the DEI platforms within PSEG's internal platforms. As a UX/UI intern at PSEG, you will design interactions and components of our internal DEI employee portal collaborating with partners in the Office of DEI. You will collect data and conduct research to understand our internal users' goals, and you will explore and iterate on solutions.
This position will be Hybrid.
Job Responsibilities
Foundational understanding and familiarity with front-end code (HTML/CSS), enabling effective communication with developers and implementation of design concepts.
Understand our users' domain, workflows, and difficulties to inform the design process effectively.
Knowledge in low/high fidelity wireframing, rapid prototyping, storyboarding, illustration, and creating user flows, enabling the creation of cohesive and user-friendly digital interfaces and products.
Investigate challenges in screen-based products, develop sophisticated solutions, and refine designs based on feedback and user insights.
Passionate about user-centered design principles, consistently placing user needs and experiences at the core of the design process to create intuitive and meaningful digital interfaces.
Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams, collaborating with individuals from diverse fields such as engineering, product, and more to achieve common design goals.
Assignments will include working alongside professionals in the following areas:
Creating an internal DEI portal as a hub to all DEI-related content available to employees
Assisting with redesigning PSEG's Inclusion Knowledge Center that will be accessed through the DEI portal
Enhancing the user experience by creating a functional and well designed portal
Creating a well-designed searchable database for Inclusion Knowledge Center
Job Specific Qualifications
Required Education/Skills: The successful candidate(s) must be actively pursuing a bachelor's from an accredited institution in computer science or technology and graduating between December 2025 and May 2028. Students graduating in May/June 2025 are not eligible unless they are enrolling in a post-graduate degree program in the fall term of 2025. PSEG recognizes institutions of higher education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent. Candidates must have completed freshman level course work for consideration.
There is no driving requirement to complete the duties of this position, but it is the responsibility of the employee on how they commute to the location (drive, rideshare, train, family member, etc)

Has a high-quality portfolio that showcases projects in the field of UX/UI design
Experience working with SharePoint
Experience working with GUI
All PSEG internship roles are paid at an hourly rate, however there are no medical benefits associated with these positions. Candidates are expected to work 40 hours per week over the duration of the summer internship. We are targeting currently enrolled/matriculating students that are able to commute to their designated work location as needed. Housing, transportation, and immigration support will not be provided in association with these positions.
