Job Summary

PSE&G's strategic growth and utility modernization organization is leading the next phase of business development and expansion. The Distribution Business Team Leader is a key team member responsible for assisting in the diligence and development of Utility modernization and growth opportunities. Once an opportunity has been identified, the team leader is expected to coordinate the efforts of various departments within PSEG (e.g. Engineering, Environmental, Tax, Accounting, Valuation, Utility lines of business, Legal and others) in evaluating and advancing the proposed opportunities. They are expected to develop and maintain effective strategic relationships with external stakeholders and PSEG partners. Tasks could include industry analysis, maintaining diligence logs, developing cap ex build-ups, maintaining action item lists, project risk assessment and general project oversight.

Job Responsibilities

  • Analyze and research ongoing project activities within the U.S., identifying relevant issues and implications to PSEG's interest.

  • Develop effective strategic relationships with all key stakeholders both internally and externally.

  • Assist in managing the commercial, technical, environmental, and permitting diligence effort for identified investment opportunities.

  • Perform requisite analysis to accurately assess growth opportunities and risks, and assist with management of project risks and issues.

  • Develop internal approval documents and analysis for identified investment opportunities.

  • Interact with Electric Division Operations Departments to extract required information for reporting purposes.

  • Ad hoc responsibilities such as development of cost benefit analysis, records of decision (RODs), budget cost controls, maintaining project schedules, invoice management and other pertinent processes and tasks.

Job Specific Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or Engineering or relevant degree

  • 6 years relevant work experience supporting development initiatives, commercial or renewable projects, structured financial analysis or utility asset replacement experience.

  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement process enhancements and efficiencies

  • Demonstrated effective problem-solving and decision-making skills, strong planning and organizing skills, must be adaptable and be result-oriented.

  • Demonstrated clear and concise written and verbal communication skills

  • Proven ability to lead, coach and motivate a team

  • Demonstrated business acumen and ability to create value

  • Internal consulting skills and strong presentation skills

  • Skilled in computer applications, including but not limited to MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, SharePoint, and MS Visio

  • Department of Energy's regulation 10 CFR 810 is required.

Desired:

• Masters in Engineering, MBA or Masters degree or PE
• Experience working in Utility (Electric, Gas or Asset Management)
