As a Corporate Development Associate, you will be actively involved with identification and evaluation of acquisition targets, development of investment theses, due diligence, financial modeling and valuation analysis, participation in management meetings with target companies, creation of investment recommendations and related presentations for senior leadership, reporting of relevant industry trends, and collaboration with external and internal teams to conceptualize and implement strategic partnerships.
This is a full-time position reporting to the VP of Corporate and Business Development.
What you'll do:
Support all aspects of mergers and acquisitions processes, including sourcing, qualification, financial modeling, due diligence, investment recommendation presentations, deal negotiations and closing & integration activities
Build detailed, bottom-up financial models and valuation analysis for potential transactions
Develop a deep understanding of materials provided during due diligence processes
Interface with a large, cross-functional deal team within realtor.com to ensure seamless deal execution
Create in-depth investment memorandums to present to executive leaders and the Board of Directors
Monitor industry activities and perform industry research of the real estate technology market, including the landscape of real estate technology vendors, startups and venture investors
Engage with internal business leaders to evaluate and develop theses and lists of potential targets
Support strategic analysis by performing ad-hoc analyses, including new business development proposals, and evaluation of buy/build/partner opportunities
Work with product teams to evaluate and implement strategic partnerships

What you'll bring:
2-4+ years' experience in M&A gained in Corporate Development, Private Equity or Investment Banking. Prior experience with consumer internet/marketplace sector is a plus.
Bachelor's degree in business, finance or related field
Experience handling projects across teams and third-party advisors (including investment banks, law firms, accounting firms, and other consultants)
Rigorous quantitative skills including experience with modeling, analysis, and valuation
Strong communication and presentation skills
Excellent interpersonal qualities including a positive attitude; desire to learn new things; judgment and discretion in matters of significance
