Qualifications We Desire:

• Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.8/4.0

• On track to obtain an electrical engineering degree

• Demonstrated course work in calculus, physics, electrical engineering and chemistry

• Experience with common electrical engineering instrumentation and diagnostics such as oscilloscopes and multimeters

• Demonstrated analytical, research and problem solving skills.

• Willingness to work in the laboratory environment that includes high voltage, pressure, laser, non-ionizing radiation, chemical, and mechanical hazards.

• Ability to work effectively in a team.

• Excellent written- and verbal-communications skills, including the development and delivery of presentations and reports.

• Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE L clearance

Department 1353 is a multidisciplinary research and development group supporting NNSA Defense and Work for Other (WFO) Programs. Our capabilities include experimental electromagnetics, the design and manufacturing of advanced power electronics, compact high current drivers, electron beam accelerators, x-ray sources, development and analysis of advanced materials and components, and plasma physics.
