    Position summary

    Essential Functions/Responsibility Statements:

    • Strategic Planning: Develop, implement, and update long-term strategic plans related to regulatory capital management, with a specific focus on RWA optimization, in line with the bank's corporate and investment banking activities and objectives.

    • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to relevant regulatory requirements, capital adequacy ratios, and compliance guidelines both in the United States and Europe, in accordance with the Basel regulatory capital rules.

    • Policy Development: Develop and maintain comprehensive policies and procedures governing regulatory capital management, incorporating regulatory guidelines and best practices from both the U.S. and European financial regulatory bodies.

    • Risk Assessment: Oversee the identification, evaluation, and management of all risks associated with regulatory capital, with a particular focus on RWA, to ensure compliance with regulatory and internal requirements.

    • RWA Optimization: Identify opportunities to optimize RWA calculation methodologies, review exposure types, and assess risk mitigation strategies to enhance the bank's regulatory capital position. This will include a close understanding of the applicable rules and quantitative models applied to the computation of RWA.

    • Reporting and Analysis: Establish effective reporting systems to provide accurate and timely information on regulatory capital levels, analyzing the bank's capital adequacy with respect to RWA, and presenting findings to senior management, regulators, and board members.

    • Strengthen Decision-making: Collaborate with senior management to enhance the decision-making process by providing comprehensive analysis and insights into regulatory capital implications for corporate and investment banking activities.

    • Relationship Management: Cultivate strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including senior management, risk management teams, finance, and compliance departments, while maintaining effective communication and collaboration across regions and functions.

    • Regulatory Engagement: Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory audits, examinations, and inquiries relating to regulatory capital management. Maintain current knowledge of regulatory changes and upcoming requirements in both the U.S. and European markets.

    • Team Leadership: Provide strong leadership to a team of financial professionals, fostering a positive work environment, setting clear goals, and supporting their professional development within the corporate and investment banking context.

    Qualifications:

    Education:

    • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent degree and/or work experience, in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.

    • A Master's degree is highly desirable.

    Work Experience:

    • Proven experience (minimum of 10 years) in regulatory capital management within the corporate and investment banking industry, preferably in a leadership role.

    • 12+ years of general relevant work experience.

    Skills and Abilities:

    • Deep understanding of regulatory frameworks, including Basel III guidelines, Dodd-Frank Act, and relevant U.S. and European banking regulations.

    • Strong knowledge of financial instruments, valuation, risk management, and capital adequacy calculations, with a specific focus on RWA optimization in the corporate and investment banking context.

    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret, analyze, and communicate complex data and reports effectively to support decision-making processes.

    • Exceptional leadership and managerial capabilities, with experience in driving change initiatives and strengthening the decision-making process within the corporate and investment banking sector.

    • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to engage and collaborate with stakeholders across various departments, regions, and regulatory bodies.

    • Familiarity with both U.S. and European Basel regulatory capital rules and their implications on corporate and investment banking activities.

    • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

    • Professional certifications such as CFA, FRM, or other relevant certifications are preferred.
