    Schwab is seeking a Senior Software Engineer with large scale experience to join our organization and lead a team. Offer Order (O2) is within the Client Data Technology (CDT) organization and is a platform used by many products and services at Schwab to understand our clients, so that we can provide them consistent individualized experiences across the Schwab ecosystem, based upon their needs. The O2 organization is made up of several Agile/Lean software development teams that deliver technology solutions for our clients across different lines of businesses and different domains within Schwab. Our technology is a key foundation for internal system integrations, our front-end customers and reporting capabilities.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Design, develop, and deliver solutions as part of an Agile Scrum team.

    • Leverage understanding of software development principles and practices to help mentor and coach junior team members.

    • Support and triage issues and participate in production support to help develop resilient and secure systems to prevent issues that impact on our clients.

    • Collaborate with product owners and business stakeholders to define strategy and scope of software requirements (decompose stories, design features, and prioritize tasks)

    • Delivering work alongside development peers in an agile environment.

    What you have

    Required Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.

    • 10+ years of experience with the following: Java, Spring framework, cloud development, and Web Services (REST and SOAP) supporting high volume transactions in a Highly Available environment.

    • 4-6 years of experience in Distributed Databases and NoSQL databases; PostgresSQL (preferred).

    • 4+ year experience working on real-time data and streaming applications

    • 4+ years of experience with continuous build process using Github, Bitbucket/Git, or similar tools

    • 4+ years of experience with Pivotal Cloud Foundry (PCF), or AWS or GCP.

    • 3+ years of experience with event-driven systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ, message queues, etc.)

    • 2+ years of experience in Cloud deployment in a CI/CD delivery model.

    • 1+ years of experience with batch jobs or data pipeline frameworks like Spring Batch, PySpark etc.

    • Experience with legacy technology is a plus .

    • AI-Assisted Workflows

      • Create clear prompts, task definitions, and acceptance criteria to effectively direct AI agents.
      • Apply spec-driven development practices.
      • Design and develop AI agents, including defining agent goals, tool use, memory, and orchestration logic to automate complex engineering tasks.
      • Review and validate AI-generated code for correctness, quality, security, and maintainability.
      • Apply judgment to accept, modify, or reject AI suggestions based on context and standards.
    • Knowledge of the Agile methodology and experience in an Agile working environment .

    • Experience with the Atlassian tool stack (JIRA et alia) .

    • Project delivery with ability to drive projects to successful completion; ability to anticipate project risks/issues and propose creative solutions.

    • Prior experience interfacing with various partners, including vendors, offshore development teams, and internal groups.

    • Strong interpersonal, analytical, problem-solving, influencing, prioritization, decision- making and conflict resolution skills.

    • Excellent written/verbal communication skills.

    • Research and development of (functional and technical specifications documents) production and test environments, architecture/design/develop solutions.

    • Develop plans for proof of concept and validation of technology/solutions.

    • Leverages deep industry knowledge to drive success while leading high-impact teams, projects, or programs.
